Camera= "room" Obscura="dark" in Latin. 5th graders will transform a resource classroom into a camera obscura later this year (pictured is last year's image of the soccer field). The room was darkened by a black curtain except for a pinhole of light. We saw the view outside reflected upside down and backwards on a poster placed in front of the pinhole. Students will also make their own camera obscuras out of shoeboxes. Camera Obscura
